What we manufacture

Which process is right for your part depends on geometry, quantity and requirement. We clarify that in the first conversation.

We are the ones who master magnesium.

since 1987 in production

Experience

We have manufactured parts and module cross-members since 1987 — across the full process chain, from process selection through joining technology to corrosion protection. Magnesium joined in the early 1990s and is our focus today.

10+ years supplying OEMs

OEM experience

We have supplied series parts to German premium automotive OEMs for more than ten years — under their quality, documentation and delivery requirements.

Magnesium is the lightest metallic structural material. That is the easy half of the statement. The harder half: magnesium behaves differently from aluminum and steel — and those differences are decided in the design, not on the shop floor.

Series

Die casting and extended extrusion capacity for medium to high series quantities.

Prototype and small series in Germany, series production in China — through one point of contact and one quality logic, with no change of supplier between the quantity stages.

From order to series

A series project from fixed design to start of production typically takes around 68 weeks.

The 68 weeks are a guide value for a typical part — depending on complexity, process and release procedures, the duration can vary. The weeks are spread across clearly separated steps and include the validation loops on your side.

1

Hand samples+6 weeksFirst physical parts to assess geometry and feasibility before tooling costs are incurred.

2

Prototypes from prototype tooling+16 weeksNear-series parts for your first validation, still without investment in series tooling.

3

Series tool, First Off Tool+26 weeksRelease of the series tool and first parts from it; from here, the later series process is represented.

4

PPAP and pre-series (PVS)+12 weeksSampling and pre-series parts for your release processes.

5

Zero series to SOP+8 weeksRamp-up to start of production under series conditions.

The schedule assumes a fixed design. Design, material release and design quality lie with you or your engineering partner; we are responsible for manufacturing quality against the agreed specification. You get an initial feasibility assessment of your part within 48 hours, independent of that.
2 weeks First prototypes are often possible within two weeks. The 68 weeks describe the full path to series production — you hold a physical part for evaluation in your hands much sooner.
